Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle.
 
Like fellow gay Lance Bass, Ricky got his start as a teenager in the homoerotic world of boy bands. He first came on most Americans’ radar with Living La Vida Loca though, a song about being seduced by a mysterious risk-taking woman. It was over a decade of struggle later that Ricky finally came out to himself and us as a man-loving man, saying “if I'd known how good it was going to feel, I would have done it ten years ago.” He’s now a proud Papa to twin boys, while remaining a solid sex icon.
