Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle. 
Hayley is a pop singer known to fans as “Lesbian Jesus”. She first gained attention with her 2015 music video Girls Like Girls where a teen girl beats up her love interest’s abusive boyfriend, making out with her after knocking him out. Hayley says she created the song and video because as a young person she saw no positive representations of romantic love between women in the media. In her acceptance of her MTV music award she said, This validates [for] any queer woman of color that you can follow your dreams.
Candle is hand-poured with soy wax and burns for approximately 10 hours. Glass votives are 2.5in high and 2in wide at the base.
