Flaming Idols are altar candles featuring inspiring figures of the LGBTQ community, created and handmade by Philadelphia artist and activist Robin Markle. 
 
Sam Smith is a gay and non-binary singer from the UK best known for emotional songs exploring heartbreak. In 2014 Sam won four Grammy awards for their album In the Lonely Hour. Upon coming out at non-binary in 2019, Sam said, “I’ve decided I am changing my pronouns to THEY/THEM. After a lifetime of being at war with my gender, I’ve decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out. I’m so excited and privileged to be surrounded by people that support me in this decision.
 
Candle is hand-poured with soy wax and burns for approximately 10 hours. Glass votives are 2.5in high and 2in wide at the base.
